This collection includes material created by the Associates of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, from their inception in 1977 to 2019. Meeting agendas and minutes, member directories, newsletters and correspondence make up the bulk of this collection.
Civic Music Association of Winston-Salem Records
This collection is comprised of materials produced by the Civic Music Association of Winston-Salem from 1970-1975, particularly during their 1971-1972 and 1972-1973 series, as well as the association’s dissolution in 1975. The collection contains correspondence with artists, booking agencies, and members of the board of directors; information about touring artists; the association’s founding documents; financial reports; notes and meeting minutes.
Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts Records
The Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts is a nonprofit organization established in 1993. Since its establishment, the Institute has funded a variety of local and national programs with the goal of strengthening the arts and supporting arts innovation. In the 2000s, the Institute narrowed its focus to programs directly benefitting UNCSA and its community of students, faculty, and alumni. The bulk of the collection is made up of project files from programs funded by the Institute including project proposals, budgets, progress reports, feedback, and marketing material. Also included are meeting materials, administrative files, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and audiovisual materials.
