Scope and Contents

The Publications Collection comprises an assortment of informational and creative publications by University of North Carolina School of the Arts students, faculty, and staff. The contents are primarily directed towards members of the campus and alumni communities: student newspapers and magazines, campus and alumni newsletters and journals, faculty newsletters, residence life flyers, yearbooks, maps, and directories and manuals of students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Students have produced a number of newspapers, as well as creative and literary collections, including one combined publication with Wake Forest University and Winston-Salem State University. Visual Arts program students contributed two-dimensional works to illustrate wall and appointment calendars benefitting the UNCSA Foundation. Newsletters for the student community include announcements of special events, activities on and around campus, and information concerning dorm life, and alumni newsletters announce accomplishments of former students. Campus newsletters and journals communicate professional information, alumni accomplishments, decisions of the faculty council, etc. Catalogs and handbooks include information about available courses and campus guidelines for upcoming school years, and yearbooks document previous school years for students and alumni. The collection also includes a number of publications, including magazines and books, produced by the school for the alumni and broader UNCSA community.
