Scope and Contents This collection is comprised of papers created by Dr. James Hustead Semans and Mrs. Mary Duke Biddle Trent Semans during their involvement with the North Carolina School of the Arts’ Board of Trustees and International Music Program. The papers contain speeches, presentation scripts, and correspondence from the Semans as well as meeting minutes and reports from the Board of Trustees regarding the organization and operations of the school.
Abstract This collection is comprised of photographs, ephemera, published materials, and newspaper articles dedicated to the career and legacy of Edward “Eddie” Stierle. Materials document his competition wins, enrollment as a high school student at the North Carolina School of the Arts, career with the Joffrey Ballet, and his death from AIDS complications in 1991. Abstract The Giorgio Ciompi Collection consists of materials related to the International Music Program in Siena, Italy, including correspondence between Ciompi and Siena officials, as well as members of the NCSA Foundation and other financial backers. In addition to correspondence, the collection includes travel and teaching schedules, music programs, brochures of tourist sites, catalogs, notes about student performers, student lists, and faculty contracts.
