Associates of The University of North Carolina School of the Arts Records
This collection includes material created by the Associates of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, from their inception in 1977 to 2019. Meeting agendas and minutes, member directories, newsletters and correspondence make up the bulk of this collection.
Chancellor Alexander C. Ewing Collection
The collection includes material produced and collected by Alexander Cochran Ewing, fifth Chancellor of the North Carolina School of the Arts from 1990-2000. The bulk of the collection is comprised of writings by Ewing, particularly speeches and addresses to campus and community audiences, and ten scrapbooks created by Ewing's wife, Sheila Cobb Ewing, commemorating his life and career at NCSA. Also included are toasts, letters to the Friends of NCSA, newspaper and magazine clippings, correspondence, and meeting materials.
Robert Lindgren and Sonja Tyven Collection
This collection is comprised of material created and collected by Robert Lindgren and Sonja Tyven, two of the founding faculty members of the School of Dance at the North Carolina School of the Arts. The two were responsible for the establishment of the Preparatory Dance Program (alternatively called the Pre-Professional Dance Program), and the North Carolina Dance Theatre, now the Charlotte Ballet. Included are newspaper and magazine clippings, correspondence photographs, and promotional material from their careers spanning 1965 to 2014.
