Abstract The Giorgio Ciompi Collection consists of materials related to the International Music Program in Siena, Italy, including correspondence between Ciompi and Siena officials, as well as members of the NCSA Foundation and other financial backers. In addition to correspondence, the collection includes travel and teaching schedules, music programs, brochures of tourist sites, catalogs, notes about student performers, student lists, and faculty contracts.
Scope and Contents This collection is primarily composed of scores and recordings of Byers’ compositions, dating from his first composition in 1959 at age 9, through 2006. Audiovisual materials include four VHS tapes labeled
Patrick Byers Residencydated February 2005, and thirty-two audio cassette tapes dated 1982-1997. The collection also includes personal correspondence, photographs, and programs.
